Coach Kheminda

Passionate, patient and endlessly encouraging — Coach Kheminda is a registered Victorian Teacher and a national-level chess player who has spent years helping Melbourne kids discover what they're capable of over the board. Every class is built on the belief that chess should be inclusive, enthusiastic and fun.

Registered Victorian Teacher

Qualified educator who knows how kids actually learn.

National-level chess player

Competes at the top level — and brings that real experience to every lesson.

Former coach at Chess Ideas

Experienced in taking students from first moves to competition.

Encouraging & inclusive

Every child is welcome, supported and celebrated — whatever their level.

Why chess

More than a game.

The skills kids build over the board show up everywhere — in the classroom, at home, and for life.

Academic skills

Chess sharpens memory, pattern recognition and concentration that carry into schoolwork.

Problem solving

Every move is a puzzle. Kids learn to weigh options and plan several steps ahead.

Analytical thinking

Calculating consequences builds logical, structured reasoning.

Discipline & focus

Patience and self-control grow naturally with every game played.
